From : Maureen Sent : Monday, February 20, 2006 9:44 AM Subject : SHS61 News Hello Classmates, We had a productive reunion/class meeting this past Saturday. Time will go fast between now and June--so PLEASE, PLEASE send in your autobiographies!!!!! No, it's not the deadline yet, but we really need them as soon as possible, and we want ALL of you included, even if for some reason you can't come to the reunion weekend. The average length is one page, but you can make it shorter or longer if you want. Also, try to send a recent photo. Regular mail: Edith Dopp 13 Bishops Gate Rd Wolfeboro, NH 03894 We haven't heard anything from about half of our class--in addition to doing the above, please drop a note and/or send me your email address. The following classmates are "missing"; if you know anything about them, please let us know: John Breckenridge, Phillip Cross, Sharon Memminger Dubreuil, Cheryl Webster Mills, John Newman, Errolyn Ploof, Vorn Swain. If we have not heard from people within the next month, we will be calling, or making some kind of personal contact. We really want all of you to come to this reunion weekend! Barbara Leahy Putnam did a great job of compiling a list of hotels/inns in the Claremont area. I'm including the list in the mailing to those who live outside the Claremont area, and to email classmates who have requested it. If any others want it, please let me know. As I told you before, we have the Claremont Country Club for our Friday night (June 9th) get-together. The cost of rental is $225. They do their own catering, and we'll have more information on the meal for the next newsletter. The cost will be $25.00 per person; this will cover the cost of the meal, rental, float supplies. The other good news is that Wayne Gonyea is in the process of copying his 45s and albums from the 50s (can't believe he still has all those!) onto CDs, and will bring them to the reunion, for our listening and dancing pleasure. A request for reservations/money will go out probably in the next newsletter, so you don't have to send anything now. The best news is that David Hale has created a class website, connected to the SHS Alumni website. He's done an awesome job, and it's still evolving. You can reach this website through the Alumni website, or directly: http://home.comcast.net/~nh_hales/SHS61/index.html http://www.geocities.com/stevensalumninh/Links.html Please check it out! And thank you, Dave! We've tentatively decided that our class float theme will be: From Sea to Shining Sea (theme of the parade is America the Beautiful); we might build a lighthouse, with room to sit on the float. Also, Skip Patten will work on making poster-size photos from each state in which our classmates live (there's a lot!), to put up around the float. We still welcome ideas. If any of you will be around, especially the week before the reunion, we will be working on the float at Carmella (Marro) Tenney's house. Our next class meeting will be Saturday, March 25th 1:00 in the Alumni Office. Please come! A separate letter will be sent out soon, explaining ideas for our 50th reunion financial gift to Stevens. We need to start this SOON (just think, if we had started 20 years ago). Some of you have already offered to send money, and we need ALL of you to take this seriously. I hope this letter finds you all well and happy. And I hope to hear from more of you soon. All the best, Maureen O'Donnell, SES (self-elected scribe)
